ElasticSearch and Ruby on Rails – Part 1

Recently I have been using two databases in my large Rails projects – 1, an RDBMS like MySQL, as a data store and another – ElasticSearch – as a denormalized document store that drives the front end data.

In this video, I go over how to get ElasticSearch into your Rails project and get the data into ElasticSearch.

There are tons of uses for ElasticSearch once you have it in your app and taking in data. This video really just scratches the surface. If you want to know more let me know and I’ll make more videos about it!

Lifestyles, Not Unicorns

Everybody talks about these rare beasts in the startup world – the Unicorns. I’m here to tell you there is another, safer, better way.

People get into Entrepreneurship for lots of different reasons. For me it was always about Lifestyle – and not the kind of ridiculous Instagram Lifestyle of being in your 20s (haha forget about that!) and laying on the beach while you passively make $100,000 a day.

But speaking of that…Do you sell on Amazon? You should be using Zonmaster.com to handle your customer communication.
